REPAIR HEMIT HV TANK JEDI

Our company received a high-voltage transformer HEMIT TANK JEDI (high efficiency motor insulated transformer) for a "major" repair, which ensures the rotation of the anode of an X-ray tube, a General Electric CT scanner. This HEMIT was exploited to the last and it came in a "killed" state. Technicians in the medical facility tried to independently restore its tightness and performance. Due to electrical breakdowns and high temperatures, the plastic of the transformer frames softened and partially dissolved in the oil. Plastic elements have also been deformed due to exposure to high temperatures. The transformers were completely replaced, the shape of the damaged plastic elements was restored. And the lower plastic cover could not be completely straightened - the material had already lost its former rigidity.
Our experts recommend, in the case of frequent breakdowns in the HEMIT transformer, to stop the operation of the tomograph and replace or repair as soon as possible, otherwise such merciless operation of the equipment may damage the X-ray tube itself, and this repair will be much more expensive and longer in terms of time, than to carry out timely repairs of the HEMIT high-voltage tank.
